The method involves providing a chamfer-type embossment (3) and a groove in a top side (2) of a plate-type carrier (1) i.e. medium density fiberboard plate, where the depth of the groove corresponds to the depth of the embossment. The carrier is divided by opposing mitre cuts till to a groove base in a rear side opposite to the top side. A decoration foil is deep-drawn into the top side and walls of the groove in a form fit covering manner by deep-drawing procedure. The divided carrier is folded according to the mitre cuts.
