<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cryoplastic catheter having an accurate temperature monitoring function. <P>SOLUTION: The instrument and method are intended for cryotherapy of a lesion in a body. A temperature monitoring device 310 used with a cryotherapeutic instrument 12 may have the cryotherapeutic instrument 12, one or more tubular members 314 connected with the cryotherapeutic instrument 12, and a temperature monitoring member 320 connected with the tubular members 314.
