PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cage for a ball bearing and a method for manufacturing the same, capable of preventing leakage of grease from the bearing, by reducing a grease quantity sticking to a ball. SOLUTION: This cage 5 for the ball bearing has a pocket 11 partially opened on one side surface of an annular body 12 and holding the ball inside, in a plurality of places in the circumferential direction of the annular body 12. A pair of claws 14 and 14 opposed in the circumferential direction are formed in a crown shape arranged by projecting in the axial direction on the opening side of the respective pockets 11. A clearance between the tips on the outer diameter side of the cage is formed narrower than an interval between the tips on the cage inner diameter side of the pair of claws 14 and 14 of the respective pockets 11.
