<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust preventing device for a joint improved in durability of the joint connecting a drive shaft member to a driven shaft member. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This dust preventing device is applied to the joint having a joint case 11 and an inner member 13 incorporated therein, and has a boot 21 and a boot fixture 31. The boot 21 has a peripheral wall portion 22 abutting on the end surface 11a of the joint case 11 and a cover portion 24 integrally connected to the peripheral wall portion. The peripheral wall portion 22 has higher rigidity than that the cover portion 24. The boot fixture 31 has a fitting portion 32 fitted around the periphery of the joint case 11 and a cylindrical member 34 covering the peripheral wall portion 22.
