Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the parking lock mechanism, a protruded portion 11 is provided on a receiving face 8a of the parking lock sleeve 8, e.g. When the parking lock pole 2 abuts on the parking lock sleeve 8, the parking lock pole 2 first abuts on the protruded portion 11 to moderate or reduce stress concentration on an end 8b which occurs when the parking lock pole 2 abuts on the end 8b. Even when a ratcheting condition is continuously established, the parking lock pole 2 abuts on the protruded portion 11 to moderate or reduce stress concentration on the end 8b.
