<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve reduction of the number of parts, cutback of the cost, reduction of the space, and miniaturization of the engine compared with the case of independently providing an intake manifold outside a head cover. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Since an intake manifold 12 for supplying the air intake to a V-type multicylindered engine E is formed integrally inside a head cover 13 for covering the top surface of a cylinder head 11, reduction of the number of parts, cutback of the cost, reduction of the space, and miniaturization of the engine are achieved, compared with the case of providing the intake manifold 12 independently outside the head cover 13. Since the intake manifold 12 comprises a first intake chamber 31b connected with a first intake port, a second intake chamber 32b connected with a second intake port, and a swirl control valve 36 disposed upstream of the second intake chamber 32b for controlling the flow rate of the air intake, swirl can be generated in the air intake only by providing a single swirl control valve 36 for a plurality of cylinders so as to contribute to cutback of the number of parts.
