<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily manufacturing, at a low cost, a high-design property decorative plate having vertical and horizontal grains excellent in quality, long durability, product yield and manufacturing work efficiency, such as a non-daylighting or daylighting decorative plate with vertical and horizontal grains arranged with good balance so as to deal with small-lot production and special order production. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: preparing a wooden base material and a decorative material; cutting the decorative material into predetermined shapes and sizes to form a plurality of units; sorting the units into a vertical grain unit where a longitudinal direction and a grain direction are parallel to each other, a horizontal grain unit where a longitudinal direction and a grain direction are perpendicular to each other, and a square unit; combining and arranging the units of at least one type or more among the vertical, horizontal and square units according to patterns on the wooden base material with an adhesive; bonding the units to the wooden base material so that a design pattern as a whole appears; and applying surface finish painting or joined locking part working of the side butt end of the decorative plate when necessary.
