PAPER SHEET IDENTIFICATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet identification device, for using a light emitting element and a light receiving element installed on each one position to determine the authenticity of a paper sheet having ink changed in hue or pattern depending on the light receiving angle of the light receiving element or the emitting angle of the light emitting element.

SOLUTION: The device comprises: a position detector 10 which detects a position of a paper sheet 5 conveyed on a conveying path 1; a light emitting element 2 which irradiates a surface of the paper sheet 5; a collector 4 which collects reflected lights 6 and 7 from the surface of the paper sheet 5 at points 1a and 1b different in the conveying path direction on the conveying path 1; a light receiving element 3 which reads the reflected lights 6 and 7 collected by the collector 4; storage parts 11 and 12 which store light receiving information showing a correspondence between light receiving data based on the position information and the reflected lights 6 and 7 read by the light receiving element 3 and light receiving information reference data serving as a reference of the light receiving information; an arithmetic part 8 which compares the light receiving information stored in the storage parts 11 and 12 with the light receiving information reference data; and a control part 9 which controls each of the parts.
