<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely send out a packet, which is transmitted from a terminal on a LAN to be extended in an existent LAN, to a line without changing the route setup of the existent LAN. <P>SOLUTION: The relay device 20 transmits an ARP response packet guiding that the MAC address of thereof is the MAC address of a default gateway to a terminal 40-1 on the extension LAN 3. Further, when transmission rates of line-bound IP packets of terminals 30-1 and 30-2 of the existent LAN 2 exceed a threshold, an ARP response packet indicating that another MAC address thereof is the MAC address of the default gateway is transmitted to the terminals 30-1 to 30-2. Thereafter, when line-bound IP packets sent from the terminals 30-1 and 30-2 pass through the relay device 20, their transmission rates are lowered to secure a sufficient band for guaranteeing the transmission rate of IP packets of the terminal 40-1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
