PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a submaster molding mold which improves the accuracy of the shape of an optical member. SOLUTION: A method for producing the submaster 20 is used for forming a plurality of lens parts 5 made of a curable resin in relation to a glass substrate 3, and has a plurality of molding surfaces in a negative shape corresponding to the shape of the optical surface of the lens part 5. The method includes a process in which from a master 10 having a plurality of molding surfaces in a positive pattern face corresponding to the shape of the optical surface of the lens part 5 is used to mold the molding part 22 of the submaster 20 having a plurality of the molding surfaces in the negative shape corresponding to the shape of the optical surface with the curable resin, and the submaster 20 is formed by lining the submaster molding part 22 with a submaster substrate 26. In this process, while the submaster substrate 26 is sucked/held to/on the suction surface 260A of a vacuum chuck device 260, the suction surface 260A is arranged in parallel with the molding surface of the master 10, and the submaster molding part 22 is lined with the submaster substrate 26.
