<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cleansing agent which imparts good feel, especially smoothness and lightness, to the hair after use and shows a good foamability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The hair cleansing agent comprises 0.01-15 mass% alkylene oxide derivative of formula (I): Z-äO-[(AO)<SB>a</SB>-(EO)<SB>b</SB>]-R}<SB>2</SB>(wherein Z is a residue obtained by removing a hydroxyl group from a dimer diol; EO is an oxyethylene group; AO is a 3-4C oxyalkylene group; a and b are average added molar numbers of the AO group and the EO group, respectively, and satisfy the relations: 1≤2×a≤150 and 1≤2×b≤150; the proportion of the EO group against the total of the AO and EO groups is 10-99 mass%; and Rs are identical to or different from each other and are each a 1-4C hydrocarbon group) and 1-20 mass% cocoyl methyl taurine salt and/or polyoxyethylene lauryl sulfate.
