<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element in which uniform light emission is possible by preventing generation of moire due to interference between patterns of an anilox roll and a printing plate when a light-emitting auxiliary layer represented by a hole transport layer and an organic light-emitting layer are formed on a substrate by using a conventional relief printing method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a method of manufacturing an organic electroluminescent element, a positive electrode and a negative electrode are provided at least on the substrate, and the organic light-emitting layer and the light-emitting auxiliary layer are provided between both electrodes. Ink with organic light-emitting layer-forming materials or light-emitting auxiliary layer-forming materials dissolved or dispersed into a solvent is supplied to the printing plate by a capillary coat method, and then the ink mounted on the convex parts of the plate is transferred to the substrate by the relief printing method to form the organic light-emitting layer and the light-emitting auxiliary layer.
