An image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit (1Y,1M,1C,1Bk), an image bearing belt (8), a first roller (11) to support the image bearing belt, a second roller (59) located away from the first roller in a horizontal direction in a lower place than the first roller to support and drive the image bearing belt, wherein the image bearing belt is inclined between the first roller and the second roller, a third roller (10) located above the second roller to support the image bearing belt, wherein a plane of the image bearing belt formed between the second roller and the third roller is approximately vertical, a conveyance path configured to convey a recording material along the image bearing belt between the second roller and the third roller, and a transfer unit (12) configured to transfer a toner image on the image bearing belt onto the recording material conveyed to the conveyance path. |
