<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator capable of suppressing the occurrence of a malfunction of an element switch mechanism of an optical pickup. <P>SOLUTION: The actuator includes a fixed portion and a movable portion 3 which can be rotated with respect to the fixed portion. The fixed portion includes a stopper portion 2f which limits the rotation range of the movable portion 3 by contacting the movable portion 3.
