PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire for reducing air column tube resonance sound and enhancing water discharge performance. SOLUTION: In a pneumatic tire having the tread formed with a main groove 1 extending in the tire's circumferential direction, a side wall 3 of the main groove 1 has a plurality types of elongated hole groups 21 and 22 respectively having elongated holes 11 and 12 arranged in the tire's circumferential direction at predetermined intervals, the holes in each group extend in a groove depth direction and have the same shape. At least one of width w1 and w2, depth d1 and d2, and intervals p1 and p2 of the elongated holes 11 and 12 in the respective elongated hole groups 21 and 22 is different from those of the other elongated hole groups by 0.1 mm or more. Circumferential lengths r1 and r2 of the respective elongated hole groups are at least 5 mm. The circumferential lengths of the respective elongated hole groups except the elongated hole group having the longest circumferential length is not less than 10% of the longest circumferential length of the elongated hole group.
