PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To search a plurality of alternative routes when a recommended route is searched for, extract an event regarding a road traffic on the alternative routes, and announce road traffic information on peripheral roads. SOLUTION: An optimal route is searched for by reflecting the road traffic information stored in a road traffic information database 36 to network data stored in a route searching network database 35. A route search means 39 searches for at least one alternative route from a departure place to a destination based on the network data stored in the route searching network database 35. An event extraction means 372 extracts the event regarding the road traffic on the alternative routes, stores the relevant road traffic information including the extracted event and an event occurrence location in a relevant road traffic information storage means 373, and display the relevant road traffic information stored in the relevant road traffic information storage means 373 on a display means 25 along with the optimal route.
