HYDROGEN SEPARATION METHOD WITH HYDROGEN SEPARATION MEMBRANE COMPRISING Nb MEMBRANE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hydrogen separation method which selectively separates hydrogen from a hydrogen-containing gas by using Nb, which is not usable so far, as a hydrogen separation membrane. SOLUTION: The hydrogen separation method with an Nb membrane is characterized by selectively separating hydrogen from a hydrogen-containing gas by using the Nb membrane under such a condition that the amount C of soluble hydrogen to Nb (H/Nb: atomic ratio) is≤0.26. There are also provided a use condition setting method for separating hydrogen from a hydrogen-containing gas with a hydrogen separation membrane comprising an Nb membrane, and a use condition setting method for separating hydrogen from a hydrogen-containing gas with a hydrogen separation membrane comprising an Nb-Ru alloy membrane.
