PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily move a fork when the fork is moved, to eliminate the lowering of the strength of the fork and a lower hook, and to suppress a hitting sound caused by the rocking of the fork in a fork hitting sound suppression device applied to a cargo handling vehicle such as a reach type forklift. SOLUTION: The fork hitting sound suppression device includes a fork support 2 provided with an upper shaft 5 and a lower receiving material 6; the fork 3 provided with a boss 11 laterally movably inserted with the shaft 5 of the fork support 2 in an upper part of a vertical piece 10 and abutted with a lower part of the vertical piece 10 on the receiving material 6 of the fork support 2; and a shock absorbing body 4 laterally movably provided on the shaft 5 of the fork support 2 capable of following the lateral movement of the fork 3, interposed between the receiving material 6 of the fork support 2 and the vertical piece 10 of the fork 3 and alleviating an impact caused by the rocking of the fork 3.
