<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of driveability, the deterioration of fuel economy, and the deterioration of exhaust emission performance by surely grasping the state of the inside of a negative pressure tank without causing a cost increase in a control device for an intake control valve for controlling fluidity in an intake air passage of an internal combustion engine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This device includes the negative pressure tank for accumulating negative pressure in the intake air passage, an intake control valve for opening and closing a part of the intake air passage, a negative pressure actuator for driving the intake control valve by negative pressure supplied from the negative pressure tank, and a control means for controlling the supply state of negative pressure to the negative pressure actuator from the negative pressure tank. The control means counts a period during which a difference between atmospheric pressure and negative pressure in the intake air passage is not smaller than a prescribed determined value, determines that sufficient negative pressure is accumulated in the negative pressure tank when a count value reaches a prescribed value, and permits the operation of the negative pressure actuator.
