<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain count processing using many input signals. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In configuration including a central processing unit 1 and a detector 2, a detection part 21 of the detector 2 detects predetermined edges of the input signals S1-Sn input via a plurality of input ports 20 as effective edges according to a count processing system by each of the input signals S1-Sn. A communication control part 23 transmits information about the effective edges from a sub side input/output interface 22 to the central processing unit 1. A communication control part 11 of the central processing unit 1 receives the information about the effective edges from a main side input/output interface 10. A count part 12 performs the count processing according to the count processing system using the effective edges detected by the detection part 21 to update a count value.
