<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for efficiently producing L-theanine and to simply and industrially advantageously produce L-theanine in a high yield by solving the problem that although a method for extracting dried tea leaves obtained in a tea field for producing refined green tea containing theanine is generally known as a method for producing theanine from conventionally, however, in the method, only approximately about 1.5% of theanine is accumulated based on dried tea leaves, since photosynthesis is active in a general tea field for green tea, theanine is hardly accumulated in the real situation.
