<p>Provided is a retinal scanning image display device which can prevent the cyclic occurrence of line patterns. A retinal scanning display displays an image by irradiating and moving, in a predetermined scanning direction, the light from a light source section which emits light modulated according to an image-related image signal. The retinal scanning display is disposed on the optical path of the light from the light source section, and is equipped with a diffraction element for diffracting the light from the light source section in a predetermined diffraction direction. The diffraction element is disposed at such an angle that the projection of the diffraction direction on the diffraction element may be nearly 45° relative to the scanning direction of a scanning section.</p> |
