OPTICAL SIGNAL TRANSMITTER

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal transmitter having a stable dispersion compensation function without executing control of an unnecessary compensation value even when the quality of a main signal is changed due to factors other than dispersion or even when a transmission-path fault occurs.

SOLUTION: A control mode of a variable dispersion compensation part is determined by using optical noise information and received power information in addition to code error information of a received signal. Consequently, a compensation value of the variable dispersion compensation part is changed when fiber dispersion is determined to be a factor for deterioration in signal quality, but the compensation value is held at the existing set value in the other cases.
