PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video generation apparatus and the like which displays multi-channel video images to be reproduced simultaneously while being switched instantaneously.

SOLUTION: A set motion image set storage section 210 stores a set of motion images having a full HD resolution as a whole and being disposed by fully laying five motion images with a resolution of 768×540. A playback section 220 plays back the set of motion images while writing them into a frame buffer 230 with the full HD resolution. A region selection section 250 selects, as a region to be displayed, one of regions for the resolution of 768×540 in the frame buffer. A video generation section 260 then generates a video image by segmenting and enlarging a motion image in the selected region to be displayed.
