<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus which is easily operated by various users and has a comparatively simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus 1 includes a reading part 6 having an image sensor or the like to read out an image concerned with a document in a body part 2. The image reading apparatus 1 further includes a movable document table 3. The document table 3 has a document setting part for setting a document and is allowed to be moved to/from the body part 2 and the reading part 6.
