<p>A planting tray(300)is provided for creating a vertical garden. The planting tray (300) comprises a container (320) for receiving a growing substrate such as soil in which plants are to be grown in use, a lid (340) for covering the container (320), the lid (340) being arranged to allow plants to grow through the lid (340), and attachment means for removably attaching the planting tray (300) to a mounting surface which is substantially vertical so that the planting tray (300) is configurable from a substantially horizontal position in which the lid (340) is arranged to cover the container (320) to a substantially vertical position in which the planting tray (300) creates a vertical garden. The container (320) comprises at least one partition (322) acting to define a plurality of compartments (324) within the container (320). The compartments (324) are arranged to be vertically one on top of another in use when the planting tray (300) is attached to the mounting surface.The lid (340) defines at least one combined irrigation and drainage aperture (341), the combined irrigation and drainage aperture being arranged so that water is able to enter a compartment (324) of the container (320) through the combined irrigation and drainage aperture when the planting tray (300) is in the substantially horizontal position. The partition is arranged to guide waterthrough the combined irrigation and drainage aperture to an outside surface of the lid (340) when the planting tray (300) is in the substantially vertical position. In this way, a planting tray (300) is able to be brought into a ready-to-display state ina horizontal position relatively easily, and when in a vertical position is prevented from being waterlogged.</p> |
