摘要 The method involves subsequently reverting a set of brake units i.e. brake calipers (12), to respective operating conditions, during operation of an azimuth rotary joint by a rotary drive e.g. electric motor. The brake units are successively and individually controlled, during the operation of the rotary joint. The brake units are controlled by closing or opening the brake units. Functional condition e.g. degree of wear, of the respective brake unit is determined from a value of a parameter i.e. drive torque, of the rotary drive, where the value is based on the control of the brake unit. An independent claim is also included for a device for diagnosis of a brake system of a rotary joint for a wind energy plant.
