PURPOSE: An actuator for camera module, control method thereof and camera module including the same are provided to save electrical power consumption caused by a spring for stopping a lens assembly. CONSTITUTION: The actuator(60) for camera module includes a magnet, a coil part, and a yoke part. The magnet(66) is formed at one side of a lens assembly. The coil part(64) controls the forward and backward movement of the lens assembly. The yoke part(62) is arranged to make the magnet move in the horizontal direction. The lens assembly has a friction member(24) generating frictional force. The friction member stops the lens assembly in the direction of optical axis.
