A method, device and system for providing media content are disclosed. They belong to the field of multimedia technology. The method includes the following steps: receiving a media content request from a media terminal; obtaining the location information of the fragment files of the requested media content in a plurality of media storage entities on the basis of the media content request; reading the media content fragment files according to the location information, and sending the files to the media terminal. The device includes a receiving module, an obtaining module and a providing module. The system includes a plurality of media storage entities, a media content distributing device and a media content providing device. The present invention improves the media content delivery quality of service without switching media providing entities, thus avoiding switching delays and improving the user service experience, with an invention that is more simple and more implementable.
