<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treatment of pulp for producing bulky paper capable of readily fibrillating pulp fiber or removing foreign matter and having high strength at low energy and low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The method for treating pulp comprises oxidizing pulp by an oxidizing agent and then imparting to pulp fiber impulse force generated when cavitation foam generated by liquid jet flow disintegrates.
