<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic resin film excellent in heat resistance, surface hardness, an appearance and an optical characteristic, having high tear resistance, excellent in handleability and workability, and suitable for optical use, in particular, such as a polarizer protection film, and a manufacturing method therefor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This thermoplastic resin film having at least a layer for forming the width-directional central part of a film, and a layer for forming width-directional both end parts thereof, and laminated width-directionally, has 1,000 mN/mm or more of width-directional tear strength in the width-directional both end parts, and the width-directional tear strengths in the width-directional both end parts are higher than a width-directional tear strength in the width-directional central part, in the thermoplastic resin film.
