<p>A bearing device for a wheel, and an axle module, which have reduced circumferential play, in which a hub ring and an outer joint member of a constant velocity universal joint can be easily connected to each other, into which foreign matter (such as mud and salty water) is prevented from entering to suppress internal rust, and which stably transmit torque for a long period. Axially extending ridges are provided either on the outer diameter surface of a shaft section of an outer joint member of a constant velocity universal joint or on the inner diameter surface of a hole section in a hub ring, and the ridges are axially press fitted to the other. This forms, in the other, grooves fitting to the ridges so as to be in close contact with the ridges, thereby forming a ridge-groove fitting structure. In the ridge-groove fitting structure, the ridges and grooves are in close contact with each other in the entire region where the ridges and grooves are fitted to and in contact with each other. A coating is provided to close the gap between the inner diameter surface on the outboard side of the hub ring and the outer diameter surface on the outboard side of the shaft section.</p> |
