<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct deviation of an image without cutoff of the image, when a rear camera is installed in a position offset from the center of a vehicle rear part. <P>SOLUTION: Positions of four reference points on an offset correction image to be generated from a camera image are set while extracting four characteristic points from the camera image obtained from the camera installed in a vehicle, and coordinate conversion based on a homography matrix is performed such that coordinate values of the four characteristic points are converted into coordinate values of the four reference points. Each coordinate value is set such that an image center line and a vehicle body center line accord on the offset correction image. It is decided whether an image cutoff area wherein image data based on image data of the camera image are not present is included inside the whole area of the generated offset correction image or not. When it is included, the positions of two reference points or the four reference points are symmetrically moved, and the homography matrix is recalculated according to the positions of the reference points after the movement. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
