<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage system for remarkably enhancing the operating efficiency of a virtual server and a virtual storage. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This storage system includes: a virtual storage selection part for selecting a virtual storage part to be allocated to a virtual server part according to a virtual storage retrieval policy table for retrieving a virtual storage part based on a parameter input from a user according to an instruction to assign the volume to the virtual server; a volume selection part for selecting the type of the volume to be allocated to the virtual storage part allocated to the virtual server part by the virtual storage allocation part according to a volume type retrieval policy table for retrieving the type of the volume based on the parameter; and a volume allocation part for creating a volume selected by the volume selection part based on the parameter, and for allocating the created volume to the virtual storage part allocated to the virtual server part by the virtual storage allocation part.
