<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound volume suppression system and a mobile terminal device, capable of lowering a sound volume in accordance with the region of a pedestrian crossing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The sound volume suppressing system includes a plurality of pedestrian crossing RFID tags 21 and 22, and a mobile terminal device 10. The pedestrian crossing RFID tags are respectively installed at both ends, i.e., at the start and end of crossing of a pedestrian crossing C1. End discrimination information A and B for at least discriminating both ends from each other is transmitted by radio. The mobile terminal device 10 includes a voice sound generating part 101 which is worn on an ear, a voice sound signal input part 112 for inputting a voice sound signal into the voice sound generating part, a communication part 111, an end discrimination information acquiring part 116 for acquiring the end discrimination information A from the pedestrian crossing RFID tag 21 through the communication part, and a sound volume suppressing part 116 which suppresses a sound volume when the end discrimination information is acquired, and continues to suppress the volume until the end discrimination information B is acquired by the end discrimination information acquiring part from the pedestrian crossing RFID tag 22 installed at the opposite end.
