<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve ride comfort by bettering a visual sense of incongruity which an occupant receives, in carrying out posture assistance of the occupant against lateral acceleration of a vehicle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A control value computing part 22 computes a control value of a posture angle of a seat so that the lateral acceleration which the occupant receives becomes minimal in accordance with the lateral acceleration of the vehicle detected by a lateral acceleration sensor 12, an actuator control part 28 drives an actuator 18 in accordance with the computed control value, an occupant roll angle detection part 24 detects a change of a roll angle against bearing surfaces of the seat of a trunk upper part and a trunk lower part of the occupant from an image of the occupant seated in the seat whose image is picked up by an image pickup device 14, and an upper limit value changing means 26 changes an upper limit value of the control value computed by the control value computing part 22 to be lower when a phase difference of the changes of the trunk upper part and the trunk lower part of the occupant is more than a prescribed area.
