Disclosed are: an immunological detection method which can detect or quantify a pneumococcal antigen in a sample derived from a living body conveniently, rapidly, and with high sensitivity; and an antibody for use in the method. Specifically disclosed are: an antibody capable of specifically recognizing pneumococcal F-antigen: a method for detecting or quantifying a pneumococcal antigen, which is characterized by detecting or quantifying pneumococcal F-antigen in a sample derived from a living body by an immunological measurement method using the antibody; and a pneumococcal antigen detection kit comprising the antibody.
