<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headlight device which fully irradiates a road surface in front of the vehicle and makes visibility of road improved without giving glare to a driver of a preceding vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: Right and left light fittings 30 irradiate regions which include an upper part from the cutoff line of a luminous intensity distribution pattern for low beams. Shades for high beam formation installed in the respective lamp fittings 30 shield a part of light emitted from the light sources of the right and left light fittings 30, and a right side luminous intensity distribution pattern and a left side luminous intensity distribution pattern, which have non-perpendicular cutoff lines upward of the horizontal line, are formed. A vehicle position detecting part 52 detects a frontward position of own vehicle. A cutoff line position determination part 54 determines a horizontal position of the non-perpendicular cutoff line so that a whole luminous distribution pattern formed by superimposing the right side luminous distribution pattern and the left side luminous distribution pattern, have a light-shielding region which coincides with the vehicle position detected by the vehicle position detecting part 52. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
