<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method in which platinum deposited in an electrolyte membrane can be cleaned and removed, and improvement of durability of a fuel cell is possible. <P>SOLUTION: The cleaning method of the fuel cell includes a membrane-electrode assembly equipped with: the electrolyte membrane; an anode electrode which is installed on one surface of the electrolyte membrane and contains at least platinum particles; and a cathode electrode which is installed on the other surface of the electrolyte membrane and contains at least platinum particles, wherein the method further includes: a platinum dissolving step in which in the presence of an oxidizer, a potential V<SB>Pt</SB>of platinum deposited in the electrolyte membrane is made 0.7 V≤V<SB>Pt</SB><0.95 V (vs. SHE) for a fixed time, and the platinum is ionized; and a cleaning step of cleaning and removing platinum ions from the electrolyte membrane after the platinum dissolving step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
