<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of performing excellent image formation even in constitution where a plurality of light emitting elements are arranged relative to one imaging optical system. <P>SOLUTION: A line head is equipped with a substrate having the plurality of light emitting elements, and the imaging optical system arranged relative to the plurality of light emitting elements and imaging light from the light emitting elements. The plurality of light emitting elements are provided to constitute a light emitting row where two or more light emitting elements are arranged at positions different from each other in a first direction.
