<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of a conventional commercial knife sharpener wherein since a fixed grinding tool or a rotary grinding wheel is used, the replacement thereof including the body is not inexpensive, and the grinding tool or the rotary grinding wheel using diamond abrasive grains to reduce the wear thereof is difficult for nonprofessional persons to handle and expensive. <P>SOLUTION: When a knife is sharpened, falling of abrasive grains, chipping thereof, or clogging occurs, and the edge thereof cannot be correctly sharpened continuously. To solve this problem, elongated grinding tools, simple grinding tools formed by covering the surfaces of rectangular support members with an abrasive material, or abrasive tapes for the purposes of rough sharpening to finishing are prepared, the these tools and tapes are so structured as to be easily replaced and fed according to the wear of the abrasive grains.
