<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the lowering of braking force with a temperature drop of a brake pad by estimating the temperature of the brake pad without adding an outside air temperature sensor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A parking brake control device determines a pad temperature estimated value TPAD in accordance with a motor idling current INF and motor voltage VMOTOR. Thus, it can estimate the temperature of the brake pad without adding the outside air temperature sensor, separately. Then, it controls the lowering of braking force to be prevented with the thermal shrinkage of the brake pad in accordance with the pad temperature estimated value TPAD, and sets a motor cutting current IMCUT during locking control, e.g. Thus, it can prevent the lowering of the braking force with the thermal shrinkage of the brake pad 11.
