<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic speaker that ensures displacement of a vibrator while preventing an electrode and the vibrator from coming into contact with each other. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A plurality of wires 40 are fitted in grooves 31 provided to a spacer 30 and extended between X-directional frames of the spacer 30 to be arrayed in the X direction at a predetermined distance in parallel to one another. The vibrator 10 is extended between Y-directional frames of the spacer 30 while running alternately over and under the plurality of wires 40 arrayed in the X direction to be supported by the wires 40. The vibrator 10 is extended between the frames of the spacer 30 in the so-called tensionless state wherein no tension is applied, but the vibrator 10 is supported by the plurality of wires 40, thereby the vibrator 10 can be disposed at predetermined positions in the spacer 30.
