<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for performing digest-print reflecting a content of a video. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Video data is stored in a storage part 116 of a controller unit 110. A cut point detection unit 112 detects a cut point where a frame image space substantially changes from the video data. An OCR unit 114 detects character information by performing an OCR on the frame image. A frame selection unit 115 selects the frame image with the character information as a representative frame image for each shot being a frame image group between the cut points, and selects a leading frame image of the shot regarding the shot without the character information as a representative frame image.
