<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor provided with a protective layer capable of improving cleaning performance by elevating mechanical strength of the protective layer and capable of maintaining a stable electric characteristic even in an environment such as a high-temperature and high-humidity environment to form a satisfactory image. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is prepared by forming a photosensitive layer and the protective layer comprising: a component obtained by reacting a curable compound; and anatase type titane oxide which contains niobium element by 0.008 to 2.5 mass% in this order on a conductive support.
