The shaft (6) has a longitudinal portion (32) on which a rotor is mounted, where the longitudinal portion is driven by rotation of the rotor around a longitudinal axis (X). The longitudinal portion is provided with a front end (34). A rotor pinion (42) drives a speed reducer. A mechanical connection zone i.e. outer periphery (39), is provided at the front end of the longitudinal portion, and another mechanical connection zone i.e. inner periphery (46), is provided on the pinion, where the connection zones are mechanically fastened with each other. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a rotor shaft.
