The assembly (10) has a bumper skin (30) defining a housing (32) in which an auxiliary optical block is inserted in a complementary manner. The housing is opened in an outer surface (43) of the skin. A fixation unit (36) fixes the optical block on the skin, and has a flexible locking bracket (76) and a rigid relief cooperated with the bracket. The bracket is projected from the skin, inside the housing, interiorly with respect to the surface. The relief is integrated to the optical block, and the bracket has a base inserted in an insertion guide (74) delimited by the skin. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a bumper masking assembly.
