The portable object includes an inertial device (2) e.g. two-axes accelerometer, and a signal processing unit (6) that processes an acceleration indicating signal (5) delivered by the inertial device for determining trajectories (7, 7') followed by the portable object. The portable object has a trajectory storing unit (11), and a display screen (15) that restitutes the trajectories and information (14) used for finding a vehicle, to a user. An independent claim is also included for a method for providing indication relative to location of a vehicle, to a user of the vehicle.
