The method involves providing an installation profile (6) with a fitting parallel to a glazing (2) to form a mounting surface (8) in a window opening (9), and fitting a window frame from outside (3) of a wall against the mounting surface, where mounting profile of the window frame is confirmed. A recess is provided in the mounting surface, where the depth of the recess is equal to the thickness of the part of the installation profile that the mounting surface covers. An independent claim is also included for a frame.
