PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit type building having large height of each story and capable of being constructed by using standard height building units. SOLUTION: This connecting member 20 is like a substantially rectangular parallelopiped box provided with a lower face part 21 abutted on an upper face of a connection of adjacent lower story building units, an upper face part 22 abutted on a lower face of a connection of adjacent upper story building units, and vertical face parts 23 connecting these lower face part 21 and upper face part 22 mutually. For this reason, since the connecting member 20 is sandwiched between the upper story building unit and the lower story building unit, a clearance having height H of the vertical face part 23 of the connecting member 20 occurs between the upper story building unit and the lower story building unit. Consequently, height of each story of the unit type building can be increased by the height H by merely utilizing the connecting member 20. As a result, height of ceiling in a lower story part or an upper story part is increased by the height H of the clearance to form a living space being full of feeling of freedom.
